Finnish company Rovio, a producer of one of the most popular video games in the world, has announced the new downloads record.
Since the first game was launched two years ago, its three versions – Angry Birds, Angry Birds Rio and Angry Birds Seasons – were downloaded 500 million times. This event made Angry Birds a best-seller among the world’s videogames and the most popular game of all times.
Still, Rovio are never going to stop and limit themselves with videogames market only. They have already hired David Masel, a producer of “Hulk”, “Thor” and “Captain America” to make a screen version of Angry Bird’s story.
Besides of several movies this popular game will become a plot for an animation series, a Finnish animation studio Kombo is currently working at.
Moreover, it was decided to produce several books, and a great amount of souvenirs for sale. According to Bloomberg agency, this year Rovio is planning to open several official stores with toys and other Angry Birds goods in China. The company awaits 100 million dollars profit on the first year of work.
