Following a new popular “green” mainstream, today many electronics manufacturers try to make their products environmentally cleaner. Apple’s position on the market requires certain actions, too, moreover if it won’t result in additional expenses. For example, the USB cables we all got used to will become a bit safer for the outside world.

It may be that a desire for reducing harmful emissions and saving our planet’s resources is not a result of the manufacturer’s free will, but of the outside pressure or a mere urging to draw additional customer’s attention. Anyway, everybody will be happy in the end. Moreover, it gives you another reason to think that you’ve contributed to the environment by purchasing a very environmentally safe and efficient gadget. We’ve already got used to the power-saving chargers and compact wrappings, now it is tome for the new USB-dock cables. The Volex Company, who produces these useful accessories, announced it is starting to make cables with no halogen only.
Average user won’t really notice the presence of this component in the current cables, but when recycling them, there are lots of harmful dioxins and furans emissions. So such an optimizing meets Apple’s aspiration for pollution-free production. This modernization will cost Volex about $6 millions, still, the company says such expenses are acceptable and is going to compensate them with marketing and using its “green” status.
Let guys from Cupertino design smart dock stations and new storage batteries to make even greater contribution to the environment.
